Most of the Real Folk Blues albums released by Chess Records were compilations of singles recorded over several years (in this instance, between 1956 and 1965). The Chess Records Acoustic Sounds Series did not meet the definitions of "folk blues" . It contained Chicago urban blues performed by a legendary artist surrounded by a number of outstanding musicians such as Hubert Sumlin and Buddy Guy.
